Pastured meat

Stonehouse Farm offers humanely-raised pastured meat. We utilize a system of rotational grazing on our farm that supports the overall health and diversity of our pastures. This system also provides an optimal quality of life for the animals we raise by giving them ample space to freely graze on a diverse array of organic matter. Our animals work within this system to improve plant growth, spread nutrients, and enhance their diets. We spend a lot of time with all of our animals and we think this makes a difference in their quality of life, creating happy animals that in turn, create a better product for our customers. Many of our customers remark that our pastured meats “taste the way meat used to taste”.

Our meat products are currently available direct to consumers at local farmer’s markets and through pre-order options (contact us for details). If you are interested in larger quantities of meat at a discounted rate, we offer whole and half pig purchase options annually. We also offer a monthly meat share program and bulk chicken orders.

Our mouthwatering maple links are a customer favorite! We love these as a breakfast treat. They’re a flavorful not-too-sweet sausage made with real Wisconsin maple syrup.

We are proud to raise 100% Berkshire pork, a heritage breed prized for its flavor, tenderness, and juiciness. Berkshire pork tends to have more marbling than other pork varieties, which contributes to its overall depth of flavor.

Our chickens are from the Freedom Ranger breeding stock, an active variety suitable for ranging and grazing. They take longer to raise than the "traditional" white breed often raised for meat production. Although it takes longer for our chickens to mature, the end result is a more flavorful and tender chicken that we think is worth the wait.

The lambs on our farm are a mix between Shetland and Blue Faced Leicester breeds. This combination offers a lean, flavorful meat and beautiful wool fleece.
